Email Marketing Done Wrong
I got this lovely personalized greeting in my email in-box this morning:

Oh, my. And the thing is, I know this company has my first name.
I don't hate email marketing. In fact, I wrote an article a couple of years ago on effective email marketing strategies for Cisco's IQ magazine. Maybe the Greenhouse Catalog should read it.

Fred,
Since I regularly scour my Google mentions to prevent people from stealing my stuff, I ran across your mention in your blog. Very nice of you. I am still in publishing -- custom publishing and marketing. I left eRepublic 3 years ago and started my own company, MGR Consulting (www.mgrconsultingonline.com. I am also writing my first book. It would be very cool to reconnect. I do a lot of outsourced magazine work these days so we might be able to work together again.
Cheers!
